2010 Charities   about the charities

Rotary Club of St Kilda Inc is supporting:
The Rotary Club of St Kilda has actively supported the meals program at Sacred Heart Mission since its introduction in the early 1980s by Father Ernie Smith (a Rotarian and former president of our club).

When Rotary began its fight against Polio in 1985, the disease infected more than 350,000 children every year. In 2008, fewer than 2,000 cases were reported worldwide. These remaining cases will be the most difficult to prevent due to geographical isolation, worker fatigue, armed conflict and cultural barriers.

Rotary Club of Melbourne South is supporting:
The Rotary Club of South Melbourne (RCMS) is a longstanding supporter of Reclink, an organisation that provides sporting, social and arts activities to enhance the lives of disadvantaged people.

RCMS will also support an international Water Wells Project in Cambodia. Many Cambodian villages are remote, desperately poor and lacking in any services or government assistance.

Rotary Club of Malvern is supporting:
The Rotary Club of Malvern has had a long association with Very Special Kids, assisting with various fundraising events, including their annual Fair.

Rotary Club of Prahran is supporting:
The Rotary Club of Prahran has for many years been a keen supporter and sponsor of all the Prahran Mission’s programs. Individual Prahran Rotarians have also helped in the Mission’s winter breakfast program for the homeless over a long period.

Inclusion Melbourne is a not-for-profit organisation that assists people with intellectual disabilities to create highly individualised and flexible lifestyles based on their needs and wants

Rotary Club of Balwyn is supporting:
This year FareShare will give, for free, 1 million meals to over 100 local food charities, all prepared by volunteers and using donated quality surplus food.
